Discord Fonts
Discord separates a restricted unique username from an expressive display name. Current Discord Help says usernames are 2β32 lowercase characters using aβz, 0β9, underscore and period, while display names are 1β32 characters and may include spaces, special characters, emoji and non-Latin text. Discord also now offers native Display Name Styles for Nitro members.
Choose the right Discord field first
Start with the field, not the font preview. Username is restricted or not a styling surface in the current guide; decorative Unicode should be tested only in separate visible-text fields that allow it.
The full field table below covers the remaining Discord surfaces. The same registry powers both sections so limits and restrictions stay consistent.
Unicode previews for eligible Discord text fields
These previews are styling options, not proof that a restricted username, handle, account identifier or policy-controlled name accepts decorative Unicode. Use the field guidance above first, then test only the visible text surfaces that fit your task.

Current platform rules
Last checked September 22, 2026. Discord currently documents 2β32 character lowercase usernames restricted to aβz, 0β9, underscore and period; 1β32 character display names that can include spaces, special characters, emoji and non-Latin text; 190-character About Me text with Unicode; and native Display Name Styles for Nitro.

Stylish Font Generator is not affiliated with this platform. A field accepting Unicode text is not the same as the platform offering a custom-font feature. Recheck important fields in the current app before publishing because limits and validation rules can change.
Field-by-field compatibility on Discord
| Field | Current limit / guidance | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Username | 2β32 characters | Lowercase aβz, 0β9, underscore and period; no consecutive periods; unique identifier |
| Display name | 1β32 characters | Officially allows spaces, special characters, emoji and non-Latin text |
| About Me | 190 characters | Officially supports Unicode, emoji, Markdown text and links |
| Messages | 2,000 standard / 4,000 Nitro | Official current message caps |
| Server nickname | Server-specific | Editable when permissions allow; server moderation can differ |
| Custom status | Verify in current client | Text field β test before relying on a decorative style |
A platform accepting Unicode in a text field does not mean it officially supports custom fonts. Limits, validation and glyph rendering can change by app version, account type, language and device.
How to use stylish text on Discord
Start with the exact name, title or line you want to use. Short tests make compatibility problems easier to spot.
Prefer a restrained Unicode alphabet or frame for identity/search fields. Decorative effects are better for optional accents.
Open Discord, paste into the intended field, save it, then check the result on another screen or device before relying on it.
Discord tips
- Keep the unique username plain and compatible: Discord currently restricts it to lowercase Latin letters, numbers, underscore and period, with no consecutive periods.
- The display name is the expressive field: Discord currently allows spaces, special characters, emoji and non-Latin text there within 1β32 characters.
- Discord now also offers native Display Name Styles as a Nitro feature. Those platform-native fonts/colors/effects are separate from the Unicode text produced by this site.
- About Me officially supports Unicode up to 190 characters. Standard messages are capped at 2,000 characters and Nitro messages at 4,000.
Using styled text on Discord
Discord now has a very clear identity split: the unique username is 2β32 lowercase characters from aβz, 0β9, underscore and period, while the display name is 1β32 characters and may include spaces, special characters, emoji and non-Latin text.
Discord also now offers native Display Name Styles for Nitro. Those fonts/colors/effects are a platform feature, separate from Unicode text copied from this site. About Me explicitly supports Unicode up to 190 characters; standard messages are 2,000 characters and Nitro messages 4,000.
