Twitter / X Fonts
X clearly separates the @username from the profile display name. Current X Help says usernames are 5โ15 characters using letters, numbers and underscores, display names can be up to 50 characters, bios up to 160, and standard posts up to 280 characters; Premium longer posts can extend further.
Choose the right Twitter / X field first
Start with the field, not the font preview. Username (@handle) is restricted or not a styling surface in the current guide; decorative Unicode should be tested only in separate visible-text fields that allow it.
The full field table below covers the remaining Twitter / X surfaces. The same registry powers both sections so limits and restrictions stay consistent.
Unicode previews for eligible Twitter / X text fields
These previews are styling options, not proof that a restricted username, handle, account identifier or policy-controlled name accepts decorative Unicode. Use the field guidance above first, then test only the visible text surfaces that fit your task.

Stylish Font Generator is not affiliated with this platform. A field accepting Unicode text is not the same as the platform offering a custom-font feature. Recheck important fields in the current app before publishing because limits and validation rules can change.
Field-by-field compatibility on Twitter / X
| Field | Current limit / guidance | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Username (@handle) | 5โ15 characters | Letters AโZ, numbers 0โ9 and underscores only; no spaces |
| Display name | Up to 50 characters | Separate profile identifier โ decorative Unicode should still be pasted and verified |
| Bio | Up to 160 characters | Profile text field โ keep searchable/accessible wording readable |
| Standard post | Up to 280 characters | Official standard post limit |
| Premium longer post | Up to 25,000 characters | Premium feature; standard posts remain 280 characters |
A platform accepting Unicode in a text field does not mean it officially supports custom fonts. Limits, validation and glyph rendering can change by app version, account type, language and device.
How to use stylish text on Twitter / X
Start with the exact name, title or line you want to use. Short tests make compatibility problems easier to spot.
Prefer a restrained Unicode alphabet or frame for identity/search fields. Decorative effects are better for optional accents.
Open Twitter / X, paste into the intended field, save it, then check the result on another screen or device before relying on it.
Twitter / X tips
- Build the @username as a plain identifier first: current X rules allow letters, numbers and underscores only, with a 5โ15 character length.
- The display name is separate and can be up to 50 characters; the bio can be up to 160 characters.
- Standard posts are currently capped at 280 characters, while X Premium supports longer posts up to 25,000 characters.
- Keep important search terms and identity text readable in ordinary characters; decorative Unicode is best treated as a small visual accent.
Using styled text on Twitter / X
X separates the @username from the display name. The username is a short restricted identifier (5โ15 letters/numbers/underscores), while the display name can be up to 50 characters and the bio up to 160.
For posts, 280 characters remains the standard composer limit, while Premium accounts can create longer posts up to 25,000 characters. Decorative Unicode can consume visual space and hurt exact search/typeability, so keep the core identity and keywords plain.
