Tumblr Fonts
Tumblr lets you customize a blog title and description separately from the blog name/URL. Stylish Font Generator keeps those roles distinct: decorative text belongs in display content, while the URL-style blog name has tighter rules.
Choose the right Tumblr field first
Start with the field, not the font preview. Blog name / URL is restricted or not a styling surface in the current guide; decorative Unicode should be tested only in separate visible-text fields that allow it.
The full field table below covers the remaining Tumblr surfaces. The same registry powers both sections so limits and restrictions stay consistent.
Unicode previews for eligible Tumblr text fields
These previews are styling options, not proof that a restricted username, handle, account identifier or policy-controlled name accepts decorative Unicode. Use the field guidance above first, then test only the visible text surfaces that fit your task.

Current platform rules
Last checked September 16, 2026. Tumblr separates the blog title/description appearance fields from the blog name/URL. Blog names can be up to 32 characters using letters, numbers and hyphens; current Tumblr Help pages do not publish the older title/description limits once shown here.

Stylish Font Generator is not affiliated with this platform. A field accepting Unicode text is not the same as the platform offering a custom-font feature. Recheck important fields in the current app before publishing because limits and validation rules can change.
Field-by-field compatibility on Tumblr
| Field | Current limit / guidance | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Blog title | Verify in appearance editor | Display text — preview in blog view and theme |
| Description | Verify in appearance editor | Display text — theme rendering can differ |
| Posts | Depends on post type/editor | Use sparingly; preview the published post |
| Blog name / URL | Up to 32 characters | Letters, numbers and hyphens only |
A platform accepting Unicode in a text field does not mean it officially supports custom fonts. Limits, validation and glyph rendering can change by app version, account type, language and device.
How to use stylish text on Tumblr
Start with the exact name, title or line you want to use. Short tests make compatibility problems easier to spot.
Prefer a restrained Unicode alphabet or frame for identity/search fields. Decorative effects are better for optional accents.
Open Tumblr, paste into the intended field, save it, then check the result on another screen or device before relying on it.
Tumblr tips
- Tumblr's blog title and description are appearance fields; test styled text in both the dashboard blog view and any custom theme you use.
- Do not confuse the blog title with the blog name/URL. Tumblr documents the blog name as up to 32 characters using only letters, numbers and hyphens.
- Current Tumblr Help pages do not publish stable numeric limits for the blog title or description, so verify those fields in the appearance editor.
- Keep tags, important search terms and navigation labels plain even if the surrounding display text is decorative.
Using styled text on Tumblr
Tumblr separates the visible blog title and description from the blog name used in the URL. That is important because the URL-style blog name has explicit restrictions: up to 32 characters using letters, numbers and hyphens.
Current Tumblr appearance documentation does not state stable numeric limits for the blog title or description. Test decorative text in the dashboard blog view and, if you use one, your custom theme.
