Threads Fonts
Meta's official Threads documentation separates the Instagram-linked account identity from Threads-specific profile/content text. The standard Threads post body remains up to 500 characters, and Threads now also supports separate text attachments up to 10,000 characters for longer writing.
Choose the right Threads field first
Start with the field, not the font preview. Username / account identity is restricted or not a styling surface in the current guide; decorative Unicode should be tested only in separate visible-text fields that allow it.
The full field table below covers the remaining Threads surfaces. The same registry powers both sections so limits and restrictions stay consistent.
Unicode previews for eligible Threads text fields
These previews are styling options, not proof that a restricted username, handle, account identifier or policy-controlled name accepts decorative Unicode. Use the field guidance above first, then test only the visible text surfaces that fit your task.

Current platform rules
Last checked September 22, 2026. Meta documents the Instagram username carrying over to Threads and standard posts up to 500 characters. Threads also now supports separate text attachments up to 10,000 characters; current first-party material checked here does not publish stable numeric limits for the profile/bio fields.

Stylish Font Generator is not affiliated with this platform. A field accepting Unicode text is not the same as the platform offering a custom-font feature. Recheck important fields in the current app before publishing because limits and validation rules can change.
Field-by-field compatibility on Threads
| Field | Current limit / guidance | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Username / account identity | Instagram-linked identity; verify current account settings | Meta says the Instagram username carries over; treat the handle as an identifier, not decorative text |
| Threads profile / bio | Verify in current Threads profile editor | Threads profile can be customized separately; current sources used here do not publish a stable bio limit |
| Standard post body | Up to 500 characters | Current Meta documentation continues to distinguish the 500-character post body |
| Text attachment | Up to 10,000 characters | Long-form attachment feature introduced by Threads; supports longer writing separate from the main post body |
| Replies | Verify in current composer | Conversation text — keep important wording readable and preview before posting |
A platform accepting Unicode in a text field does not mean it officially supports custom fonts. Limits, validation and glyph rendering can change by app version, account type, language and device.
How to use stylish text on Threads
Start with the exact name, title or line you want to use. Short tests make compatibility problems easier to spot.
Prefer a restrained Unicode alphabet or frame for identity/search fields. Decorative effects are better for optional accents.
Open Threads, paste into the intended field, save it, then check the result on another screen or device before relying on it.
Threads tips
- Treat the Threads username/handle as account identity rather than a font field. Meta's official Threads documentation says the Instagram username carries over, while the Threads profile itself can be customized.
- Standard Threads posts remain up to 500 characters. Keep the main message readable and use decorative Unicode as a short accent rather than transforming the entire post.
- For longer writing, Threads now supports separate text attachments up to 10,000 characters. That is a different surface from the 500-character main post body.
- For Threads profile fields, verify the current editor when an exact numeric limit matters. Keep the visible identity readable and use decorative Unicode only where the saved result works well.
Using styled text on Threads
Threads still uses a 500-character standard post body in Meta's current product documentation, but it now also supports a distinct long-form text attachment of up to 10,000 characters. Those are separate surfaces and should not be collapsed into one generic 'post limit'.
Meta's official Threads documentation says the Instagram username carries over while the Threads profile can be customized. For profile fields where current first-party documentation does not state a stable numeric limit, verify the current Threads editor before relying on one.
