Before you change your name
First-party EA naming check (reviewed 2026-09-22): EA says an Apex username depends on the platform used to set up the account. On EA app accounts, the Apex username is the EA ID. EA IDs are unique identifiers of 4–16 characters and can be updated once every 30 days.
Apex Tags are separate visual flair before the username; EA says Tags are 3–4 alphanumeric characters (A–Z and 0–9) and can be changed independently.
Those EA rules do not prove that every decorative Unicode result is accepted by every connected platform username field. Test the exact candidate on the platform you actually use.
Type your name above or generate an idea, copy a result, and test it in the current Apex Legends name-edit field. Unicode acceptance can vary by character and game version.
What is the current Apex Legends name limit?
EA currently says an EA ID is 4–16 characters. Apex usernames can instead come from the connected platform, so that is not a universal limit for every Apex platform username.
What is an Apex Legends Tag?
EA describes an Apex Tag as separate visual flair that appears before your username. It is 3–4 characters long and uses only A–Z letters and 0–9 digits.
Why can a styled Apex Legends name be rejected or show boxes?
The game may filter that Unicode character, or the viewing device may lack a glyph. Try a simpler style and always confirm the saved preview before committing.
Does Stylish Font Generator control in-game rename rules?
No. Stylish Font Generator only generates text. Any rename cost, cooldown, character rule or moderation policy is controlled by the game itself and should be checked in the current game.
