How to Write Your Name in Cursive

A name-focused workflow for handwriting practice and copyable digital versions.

Turn the spelling into a practice plan

  1. Write the name once in clear print so every letter is unambiguous.
  2. Identify the first capital and the remaining lowercase letters.
  3. Check each letter in your chosen cursive model.
  4. Practice difficult two-letter transitions separately.
  5. Write the whole name slowly, then adjust spacing before adding speed or flourishes.

For example, Aurelia has one initial capital followed by lowercase letters. Its digital Unicode Script version is 𝒜𝓊𝓇ℯ𝓁𝒾𝒶, but that output is a copy/paste text style—not a stroke-by-stroke handwriting lesson.

Names in cursive: keep the spelling and capitalization clear

For a personal name, the safest starting point is the ordinary spelling you actually use. Keep the first capital recognizable, then practice the lowercase sequence as a word. Digital examples such as ℳ𝒶𝓎𝒶, ℒ𝒾𝒶𝓂, 𝒮ℴ𝓅𝒽𝒾𝒶 and 𝒩ℴ𝒶𝒽 preserve the source spelling, but they remain Unicode text rather than handwriting instructions.
